Hello Sandberg. How would you like to
introduce yourself ?
A
We are a major brand of small peripherals,
accessories, IT connections, gadgets and
cables in Scandinavia, though possibly
unknown in the UK. Quite simply, we want
to change the world! Our mission is to
make it possible for everyone to get fully
connected and enjoy IT. Simplicity and
reliability are key to what we do.
Q
How did you become so popular in Scandinavia?
A
Sandberg takes care of the consumers and
the dealers. For example, we want setting
up a home network to be so simple that our
customers don’t waste the dealer’s time in
helping them. Sandberg products have
been on the market for more than a
decade. When a family user has tried one
of our products, they look for Sandberg
again, because it was a good experience.

What is in it for the dealers?
A
All Sandberg products must undergo a
thorough quality check so that we can be
confident of associating our brand with
them. Returns are unlikely, even with our
five year warranty. The packaging is easy to
understand, the instruction guides are easy
to follow and, in the unexpected event that
the customer encounters a problem, we
offer a free-of-charge hotline service with
practically no queuing time. Our aim is that
dealers should not be troubled by anything.
Oh yes, and do not forget that we won a
first prize for best dealer profits in a
Computer Reseller News Denmark survey.

How can new dealers start to get a handle
on where you best fit into their business?
A
We offer quite a range, so we came up with
‘The Sandberg Guide’ on our company
website at http://www.sandberg.it/ – it helps
everyone to find the right item to connect
any of two devices. Dealers can incorporate
it into their own websites. And if you have a
store, register online to get access to our
space management software, MeterMan,
which will help you choose your in-store
range and monitor stock performance.

High season is here – does it bring any new
developments from Sandberg?
A
Our list is always evolving, but we can tell
you that the autumn and winter will bring a
variety of new products – stylish headsets,
powerful speaker sets, heavy backup
solutions, some new network gear and
adapters. We have garnered many glowing
reviews and bench tests from the
Scandinavian consumer press, and we fully
expect that to continue in the UK.

That sounds really impressive. Is there
anything else you can tell us about?
A
We have an elegant solution to the problem
of large file transfers between computers.
Normally this might involve zipping files,
burning CDs, swapping USB keys back and
forth, or the technical setting up of network
cards. If you’ve ever tried this, imagine the
appeal of our USB to USB Transfer Link, a
simple cable between the USB ports of the
two computers for direct exchange! That’s
a good example of a Sandberg idea.
