How does Magic Touch work? It is a transparent pressure-sensitive membrane overlay capable of detecting your touch for mouse cursor movement, clicking, double clicking and dragging. Your finger or stylus becomes the mouse control.
How does it interface with the computer? You will not need to open up the computer case. There are two types of controller box: USB and ProE (COM Port). The USB controller is used for Win98, ME, 2000, XP or Mac. The ProE controller is used for Win95, 98, ME, NT4.0, 2000, XP and Linux. It needs to be plugged into a free COM port. There is no other power source needed.
What are the system hardware requirements? Any PC that can run Win95 or higher with a USB port or COM port available. Any Mac that has an avilable USB port.
What can be used to activate the Magic Touch? That Magic Touch can be activated by finger, fingernail, gloved hand, stylus, soft-tip pointers, and anything that does not have a very sharp point.
Do I need special software? No Magic Touch works for any mouse-driven programs, and the mouse can still be used simultaneously.
What happens if some sharp object accidentally scratches the touch screen? Unless the cut is so deep that it penetrates the first layer of the Magic Touch, the function will not be affected.
How do you clean the screen? It can be cleaned by regular glass cleaner. Do not spray the liquid directly on to the screen.
What is the technology behind it and are there other technologies available? Magic Touch is made using resistive technology is the most popular because it provides the highest touch resolution, fastest touch response and can be activated by anything. Capactive technology requires skin contact to operate. Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) technology is sensitive to moisture. Infared (IR) technology has very low resolution and is sensitive to moisture and is sensitive to ambient light, flying insects etc. |
