Interactive Ideas launch Linux Services

Interactive Ideas, the leading distributor of Open Source and Linux Solutions in the UK, announced today the availability of Linux Services to our reseller channel.

The Interactive Ideas Linux services have been designed to allow our reseller channel to deliver a total Linux solution to meet their clients' complete business and technology needs. Interactive Ideas provides a fully certified, experienced team to support resellers seeking to evaluate or implement Linux solutions to help their clients lower costs, improve productivity and increase satisfaction with their IT infrastructure.

Interactive Ideas, Managing Director, Mike Trup commented "The days have gone where client companies just bought Microsoft without at least considering the alternatives. We have launched the services to give resellers access to Linux skilled staff who can undertake client work on their behalf. It means that they can be seen to provide their corporate clients with access to the full range of solutions, even if their current staff are only Windows qualified. The aim of this service is to break down the skill gap that deters many resellers from giving their customers the option of a Linux solution. Once they have proof of demand we can also provide them with the training necessary to up-skill their own team".

The Linux Services have been broken down into three areas to cover Installation, Workshop and Consulting.

Installation Services are designed to perform a specific scope of tasks with a client. The aim of these packages is to deliver a functioning system integrated into a customer's network; this could include installation of a configured Email or Web Server, File and Print Server or Internet Gateway Server.

Workshop Services are designed to help assess the feasibility and costs of integrating Linux systems operating at a strategic level to deliver an outcome from which you can fully understand the implications of using Linux.

Consulting Services target areas where open source technology can improve a business IT infrastructure covering strategic consulting, integration, server consolidation with VMware and Security.
